about justXchange
justXchange is a Belfast-based exchange system based on the currency of time, where your hour equals my hour. It is based on timebanking concepts. The idea is that everybody has something to offer, and something they could use help with. Rather than adding some monetary value to the services we can offer, we choose to value everyone's time equally. So your hour equals my hour.
The justXchange website is where you can engage in arranging exchanges and credit or debit time between your account and someone else's for services rendered. This allows you to not just exchange with one person, but accumulate hours and spend them where you need to. This creates a network of one-to-one interactions, and so enables us to weave community, one exchange at a time.
Anyone is welcome to browse the website to have a look at what is going on. In order to participate in exchanging, you need to sign up to become a member (free of charge). members have a personal profile page (visible only to other members), where you can post some information about yourself, as specific information about what you are offering and what you are looking for.
justXchange is a system based on trust. We do advise people to take the normal precautions they would to keep themselves safe.
